50. Joseph⁵ Ramsdell (Joseph⁴, Thomas³, Daniel², Joseph¹) was born in Hanover, Plymouth, MA 3 July 1743. Joseph died 6 August 1817 in Warren, Worcester, MA, at 74 years of age.

He married twice. He married Elizabeth Barker 1 February 1770. Elizabeth was born May 1742 in Pembroke, Plymouth, MA. Elizabeth was baptized in Pembroke on 16 May 1742. Elizabeth was the daughter of Elisha Barker and Elizabeth Bowen.

Elizabeth died 19 June 1786 at 44 years of age. He married Elizabeth Ellis 17 May 1787. Elizabeth was born about 1750. Elizabeth was the daughter of Mordecai Ellis. Elizabeth died 20 October 1811 at 61 years of age. Joseph was a soldier in the Revolution. He served in Cpt Amos Turner's Co., Col. John Cushing's Regt. in 1776. He recived a grant of land at Warren for his wartime service. Hanover records say that Joseph resided on Circuit Street, near the Drinkwater River. He kept a general store near the present residence of Rufus T. Estes.

Joseph Ramsdell and Elizabeth Barker had the following children:

116 i. Mary⁶ Ramsdell was born in Hanover, Plymouth, MA 29 July 1771. She married Nathaniel Ellis 20 July 1789.

117 ii. Priscilla Ramsdell was born in Hanover, Plymouth, MA 18 March 1773. Priscilla died 24 July 1774 in Hanover, Plymouth, MA, at 1 year of age.

+ 118 iii. Joseph Ramsdell was born 10 September 1775.

119 iv. Priscilla Ramsdell was born in Hanover, Plymouth, MA 7 July 1776. Priscilla died 17 October 1777 in Hanover, Plymouth, MA, at 1 year of age.

+ 120 v. Barker Ramsdell was born 13 June 1779.

+ 121 vi. Homer Ramsdell was born 1781.
