119. Joseph6 Naylor (Charles7, James8, Joseph9, George10) was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England 7 June 1824. Joseph died 18 April 1894 in Holyoke, Hampden, MA, at 69 years of age. In the 1851 Census for Horsforth, Yorkshire, Joseph was employed at a Dyer. During the 1871 census for Shipley, Yorkshire, Joseph was employed as a Mechanic Planer.

He married Elizabeth Parfitt 18 November 1844 in Parish Church, Bradford, Yorkshire, England. Elizabeth was born 9 August 1824 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Elizabeth was the daughter of William Z. Parfitt and Hannah Tomlinson. Elizabeth died 7 February 1905 in Holyoke, Hampden, MA, at 80 years of age. Joseph came to America between 1882 and 1884. He died at 105 Sergeant Street in Holyoke. His body is interred at lot 319 (at the circle), Forestdale Cemetery, Holyoke, MA.

Joseph Naylor and Elizabeth Parfitt had the following children:

child 120 i. James5 Naylor was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 13 April 1846. James died 8 October 1898 in England, at 52 years of age. He married Sarah Ann Gell 3 August 1870. Sarah died 4 March 1914 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.

child 121 ii. Emily Naylor was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 18 December 1848. Emily died 29 April 1849 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, at less than one year of age.

child 122 iii. Mary Ann Naylor was born in Horsforth, Yorkshire, England 22 May 1850. During the 1871 census she was employed as a cloth weaver. Mary died 20 December 1916 at 66 years of age. She married Joseph Alfred Musgrave Bretherick 16 April 1870. Joseph was born in Bramley, Yorkshire, England in July 1849 to George Bretherick and Sophia Musgrave. They immigrated to the United States in 1886. Joseph was employed as a shipping clerk in the 1900 Census in Holyoke, MA. Joseph died 14 December 1923 at approximately 74 years of age. Joseph and Mary are buried Lot 76-Section N, Forestdale Cemetery, Holyoke, MA.

child + 52 iv. William Naylor was born in Horsforth, Yorkshire, England 4 August 1852. William died 21 August 1918 in Springfield, Hampden, MA, at 66 years of age. His body was interred in Lot 4-Group 146, Oakland Cemetery, Cranston, RI. He married twice. He married Eliza Ann Ellis 26 Dec 1876 at St John the Evangelist in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Eliza was the daughter of William Ellis They were divorced 8 Nov 1888 in Massachusetts. He married Ida Elizabeth Gage 18 June 1890 in Holyoke, Hampden, MA. Ida was born 24 February 1859 in Providence, RI. She was the daughter of Isaac Gardner Gage and Nancy Jeffers Streeter. At the time of her marriage, Ida was a Mill Operator. Ida died 18 January 1949 in West Springfield, Hampden, MA, at 89 years of age. William was born at Bradford, Yorkshire, but grew up at Leeds, Yorkshire. In the record of his first marriage and also in the 1881 census for Leeds, he cited his ocupation as "Model Maker". The family came to Holyoke about 1883. William recieved his naturalization certificate 13 October 1892 at Kings County, NY. He was an Organ Maker. He died at 10:55am at 35 Able Avenue in Springfield.

child 123 v. Charles Henry Naylor was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 3 June 1854. Charles died 13 October 1854 at less than one year of age.

child 124 vi. Emily Naylor was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England 31 August 1855. In the 1871 Census for Shipley, Yorkshire, Emily was employed as a Stuff Weaver, age 15. Emily died 3 January 1939 at 83 years of age. In 1905 she lived at 60 Taylor Street, Holyoke, MA and was working as a Mill Inspector. She married twice. She married Cyrus Nickerson 1 August 1895. Cyrus was born in 1826 in Providence, RI to Malachi Nickerson and died 12 March 1901. He served in the Civil War, Private, Co. K, 39th Mass. Regt. and afterwards worked as a painter. She married second Henry Turner 3 July 1905 (also his second marriage). Henry was born about 1860 in Springfield, VT to Thomas and Elizabeth Turner. His occupation was listed as Teamster on his marriage certificate and he resided at 26 Liberty Street, Holyoke, MA. Henry died 9 September 1923. Emily came to the United States 23 Sep 1882. She lived in Holyoke and probably died there.

child 125 vii. Ann Elizabeth Naylor was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 29 August 1857. In the 1871 Census for Shipley, Yorkshire, Ann was employed as a Worsted Weaver. She married John Morgan 2 October 1890. He was from Newfoundland and may have died in California. His occupation was listed as Mechanic on his daughter's birth certificate and "Salesman - Hardware Store" in the 1910 census. Ann died at 76 Spring Street after a long illness. She came to America when she was 25, and lived most of her life in Holyoke. Her body is interred in Oak Grove Cemetery in Holyoke, MA.
