1155. Henry A.⁹ Ramsdell (John H.⁸, Samuel⁷, George⁶, Jonathan⁵, Jonathan⁴, Jonathan³, Isaac², John¹) was born in Garland, ME 22 November 1844. Henry died after 1894 in McCook Co, SD.

He married Sarah A. Woodbury 31 May 1867 in Dover, Piscataquis, ME. Sarah was born about 1847. He enlisted at 20 years of age in Co. M, 1st Maine Heavy Artillery and served a year of heavy service, escaping with only one wound. He participated in the following battles: Spottsylvania, North Anna, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Deep Bottom, and the capture of Petersburg as well as many others. He was discharged at Ft. Baker, Washington, D.C. on Sep 11, 1865. In 1879, he filed a soldiers claim to a quarter section of land in Pearl Township, McCook Co, SD where he moved in 1881.

Henry A. Ramsdell and Sarah A. Woodbury had the following children:

1423 i. William Henry¹⁰ Ramsdell was born in Atkinson, ME about 1868.

1424 ii. Harry Ramsdell was born in Atkinson, ME about 1870.
