1557. Laurence Frederick¹¹ Mattern (Emily Margarett¹⁰ Ramsdell, John Aaron⁹, Aaron⁸, William⁷, James⁶, James⁵, Timothy⁴, Isaac³, Isaac², John¹) was born in Lorine, ND 29 April 1917.

He married Delores Peterson 25 February 1945 in Glasgo, MT. Delores was born 25 September 1921 in Mohall, ND. Loraine changed his name to Laurence. He and his wife were grain farmers, farming near Mohall, ND. Delores also retired as a school teacher.

Laurence Frederick Mattern and Delores Peterson had the following children:

+ 1857 i. Loren Wayne¹² Mattern was born 1 August 1947.

+ 1858 ii. Dean Leroy Mattern was born 15 August 1948.
