1112. Alvin Charles⁹ Ramsdell (Charles Emerson⁸, Isaac⁷, James⁶, James⁵, Timothy⁴, Isaac³, Isaac², John¹) was born in Lubec, Washington, ME 19 July 1870. Alvin died 29 December 1945 in Miami, FL, at 75 years of age.

He married Barbara E. Sirles 13 January 1892 in Lubec, Washington, ME. Barbara was born about 1872. From the Lubec Herald, 3 January 1946: "A telegram received here last Sunday by Mr. Harry Walton announcing the death of a former Lubec resident, Mr. Alvin Ramsdell, at his home in Miami, Florida. The telegram stated that he was found dead in his bed last Saturday night. (Dec 29, 1945) He was about 75 years of age and was born in North Lubec where he worked in his early life in various sardine plants. Later he entered the sardine business for himself, in partnership with the late John Mawhinney, under the name on Mawhinney and Ramsdell Packing Co. in a factory erected near the Canal at North Lubec. The factory was sold to one of the sardine syndicates and later rebought and oporated together with another plant at that time known as the Eureka Packing Co. near the present factory of the America Can Co. Mr. Ramsdell had this later plant entirely remodeled and renovated and he was the first of the downeast packers to instal retorts in the factories. This took the place of the old fashioned revolving ovens. About 1932, Mr. Ramsdell had this factory dismantled and torn down. With his family he moved to Rockland where he erected another large sardine factory and did business there for many years. He also operated a factory in East Deering which later burned to the ground....For the past few years, Mr. Ramsdell and family have been dabbling in the fruit business. During the big hurricane a year ago his entire orchard was distroyed. Mr. Ramsdell is survived by his wife, Barbara E. Ramsdell, three daughters, Mrs. Iva O'Niel of Georgetown, CT., Mrs. Annie Trecarton and Mrs. Leah Fuller of Coral Gables. FL and six grandchildren."

Alvin Charles Ramsdell and Barbara E. Sirles had the following children:

1362 iii. Annie Libby Ramsdell was born in Lubec, Washington, ME 12 November 1895.

1363 iv. Leah Ramsdell was born in Lubec, Washington, ME 27 July 1897.

1364 v. Alvina Ramsdell was born in Lubec, Washington, ME 1 September 1898. Alvina died 17 March 1915 in Lubec, Washington, ME, at 16 years of age.

+ 1365 vi. Alvin Winfield Ramsdell was born 17 April 1902.
