184. Aquilla⁵ Ramsdell (Moses⁴, Benjamin³, Aquilla², John¹) was born in Mendon, Worcester, MA 28 February 1756. Aquilla died 14 April 1844 in Swanzey, Cheshire, NH, at 88 years of age.

He married twice. He married Esther Brown 6 August 1781 in Mendon, Worcester, MA. Esther was born 2 Mar 1748, in Cumberland RI, daughter of Joseph Brown & Esther Darling. Esther died 24 April 1828 at 77 years of age. He married Lydia Harris 31 December 1829 in Swanzey, Cheshire, NH. Lydia was born about 1757. Lydia died 14 April 1844 at 86 years of age. Aquilla was listed as a yeoman. He served in the revolution as a Private, Capt. Andrew Peter's co., Col. Joseph Read's Regt.; muster roll dated Aug. 1, 1775; enlisted April 29, 1775; service, 3 mos. 10 days. He was involved in battles at Frog's Point and East Chester. He was granted a pension on account of his service on 9 August 1832 at Swanzey, NH. (He was 75 years then)

Aquilla Ramsdell and Esther Brown had the following children:

303 i. Nattalla⁶ Ramsdell was born 30 May 1782. She married Josiah Parsons. Josiah was born about 1782.

304 ii. Judith Ramsdell was born about 1783. She married James Sibley Taft. James was born about 1783.

305 iii. Mary Ramsdell was born 1785. She married Elijah Sawyer. Elijah was born about 1785.

+ 306 iv. Elisha Ramsdell was born 2 December 1786.

307 v. Esther Ramsdell was born 1788. She married Joseph Woodward. Joseph was born about 1788.

308 vi. Italy Ramsdell was born 1789. She married Zadock L. Taft. Zadock was born about 1789.

309 vii. Anna Ramsdell was born 1792. She married Zadock L. Taft. Zadock was born about 1789.
