194. William⁶ Ramsdell (Gersham⁵, Samuel⁴, Samuel³, Daniel², Joseph¹) was born in Pembroke, Plymouth, MA 8 April 1791.

He married Anna Deane 7 March 1815 in Leeds, Androscoggin, ME. "William served an apprenticeship and learned the trade of carpenter. He was in the service of the United States Army in the War of 1812, and returning therefrom in 1814, he married Anna Deane and settled on a farm adjoining that of his fathers, where four children were born to them." [From "The History of Leeds, Maine" by J.C. Stinchfield, ET ALS.; 1901, page 218:]

William Ramsdell and Anna Deane had the following children:

+ 440 i. Zophar Deane⁷ Ramsdell was born 21 November 1816.

+ 441 ii. Augustus Ramsdell was born 25 June 1826.

442 iii. Melvina Jane Ramsdell was born in Leeds, Androscoggin, ME 31 December 1832. She married R.E. Wood. They removed to Westport, Mass., and had 10 children according to "History of the Town of Leeds" by J. Stinchfield; 1901".

443 iv. Roswell Ramsdell was born 27 Nov 1835. Roswell died young.
