He married twice. He married Elizabeth Littlefield. Elizabeth was born 22 July 1627 in Titchfield, Hampshire, England. Elizabeth was the daughter of Edmund Littlefield and Agnes (Annie) Austin. Elizabeth died in Wells, Maine. He married Ann in Watertown, Litchfield, Conn. Ann was born about 1622 in of, New Haven, New Haven, CT. Ann died 1695 in CT, at 73 years of age.

John Wakefield and Ann had the following children:

5028 i. Mary¹³ Wakefield was born in New Haven, CT about 1640.

+ 3445 ii. Hannah Wakefield was born 29 December 1644.

5029 iii. Mary Wakefield was born in New Haven, New Haven, CT 24 August 1645. Mary died 24 September 1705 in Windsor, Hartford, CT, at 60 years of age. She married twice. She married Ebenezer Dibble 27 October 1663 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. She married James Hillier 15 June 1677.

5030 iv. John Wakefield was born in of, New Haven, New Haven, CT 24 August 1645.

5031 v. Martha Wakefield was born in New Haven, New Haven, CT 19 April 1650. Martha died 28 October 1684 at 34 years of age. She married Nicholas Buckland 21 October 1668 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut.
