5. John Edward³ Andrews (Evelyn Stiles⁴, Harry Lester⁵, Martin Luther⁶, Martin Luther⁷, Luther⁸, William⁹, William¹⁰, John¹¹, Abraham¹² Andrus, Francis¹³) was born in Englewood, Bergen, NJ 20 November 1938.

He married Jane Templeton Wood 28 April 1962 in Schenectady, NY. Jane was born 22 March 1938 in Stratford, Fairfield, CT. Jane is the daughter of Donald Augustus Wood and Lillian Marguritha Johnson Templeton. John graduated from the University of Vermont in 1961. He served as a Company Commander of the 131 Engineers, Vermont National Guard in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star, and retired from the Vermont National Guard in 1992 as a Lt. Colonel. He also retired as a Sales Representative from the Lever Brothers Company.

John Edward Andrews and Jane Templeton Wood had the following children:

+ 2 i. Ross Donald² Andrews was born 21 October 1963.

6 ii. Susan Wood Andrews was born in Burlington, Chittenden, VT 28 May 1968. She married Owen Warner Boardman 18 May 1991 in Underhill, Chittenden, VT. Owen was born 31 May 1966 in Burlington, Chittenden, VT.

7 iii. Evan Edward Andrews was born in Burlington, Chittenden, VT 19 May 1971. He married Susan Lavalette 23 September 1995 in Essex Center, Chittenden, VT. Susan was born 7 June 1970 in Burlington, Chittenden, VT. Susan is the daughter of Robert Lavalette and Esther Barbeau. Evan graduated from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY in 1993 with a degree in civil engineering. He then entered the Army at FT Sill, OK and later spent 3 1/2 years in the 1st Cavalry Division at FT Hood, TX. While at FT Hood he was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 82d Field Artillery Regiment.
